AWAKENED WELLBEING THERAPY

SARAH JAMES

Welcome
Welcome

Welcome to Awakened Wellbeing.

My name is Sarah and I work as an Integrative Counsellor.

We all experience times when we feel lost or anxious.  Often having someone to explore your concerns with can be deeply valuable and clarifying. I understand that sharing feelings and parts of yourself that you usually keep hidden can be daunting. I provide a safe and confidential space in which you can begin to do this.

By developing awareness through examining your inner world and understanding your beliefs, habits and motivations, you can begin to enhance your sense of identity and enable positive change to occur.

We all have the ability to heal and grow, given the right conditions. Discomfort can be caused by a loss of contact with who we really are. Counselling can help you restore and renew this contact thereby awakening you to a greater sense of wellbeing.

The desire to know your own soul will end all other desires. ” - Rūmī
About Me

I am a down to earth, qualified counsellor with professional experience of working in various settings including bereavement and Higher Education. I have worked successfully with clients who have experienced loneliness, anxiety, depression, loss (of job, identity, relationship), eating disorders, relationship issues, panic attacks, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and mental health conditions. You are welcome to explore whatever is troubling you in your session.

How I Work

Due to Covid-19 I am running an online practice, offering phone and video appointments.

I use a holistic individualised approach and work at the pace and depth that is appropriate for you. My work is informed by different schools of thought, including Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Transpersonal. As an Integrative Counsellor I weave different branches of psychotherapeutic theories together to meet your needs.

Above all I believe in building a connection that is respectful and collaborative. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, cultures and sexual orientations.

Professional Registration

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work within their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

My work is fully insured and underpinned by regular clinical supervision.

Fees and what to expect

Sessions are £60 and last for fifty minutes.

I will offer you an initial consultation to explore what brought you to counselling. You can then decide if you feel comfortable to work with me. This is also a time where you might want to ask any questions that are on your mind.  Through this process we will find a way forward to support you with your concerns.

Your sessions will be at the same time each week.  We can agree to a fixed series of sessions, or leave it open for longer term work, according to your needs and preferences.

Contact

I understand that taking the first step towards counselling may be difficult. If you would like to discuss the possibility of starting the process but are unsure if it is for you, you are welcome to call or send an email and I would be glad to discuss this with you further.
